Ferrari’s current Technical Director Pat Fry has been promoted to the position of Director of Engineering.
Ferrari’s official statement reads, “Ferrari announces that, as from this coming 1st September, James Allison will join the Scuderia in the role of Chassis Technical Director. At the same time, Pat Fry will take on the new position of Director of Engineering. Both men will report directly to the Team Principal of the Gestione Sportiva, Stefano Domenicalli.”
Allison had previously worked for the Italian team as an aerodynamicist between 2000 and 2005 and then moved on to Renault F1 team, which is now the Lotus F1 team.
It remains to be seen what effect this could have on Ferrari, who have not been able to give Fernando Alonso a car to win the Driver’s Championship since he joined Ferrari.
